With these adjustments comes the question how Catholic identity, as well as the charism of the founding and sponsoring group, are expressed on campus and assimilated by students.

ACCU has developed three surveys exploring how new students, graduating students, and young alumni understand Catholic identity and how their Catholic higher education experience adds distinct value.
Catholic Mission Assessments: A Best Practices Guide
Catholic Mission Assessments is intended to assist Catholic institutions of higher education in assessing their mission and institutional identity practices. This institutional guide articulates guiding questions and possible indicators for an institution’s Catholicity and offers a framework for self-study. The findings may assist an institution in setting its internal goals and presenting itself to external constituencies such as accrediting bodies, donors, sponsors, prospective students and their families, alumni, and other potential collaborators or supporters.
This new document is designed to work hand-in-hand with CIMA, ACCU’s existing survey tools for students. The recently updated CIMA surveys provide specific data by which ACCU member institutions understand how students experience and are changed by the institution’s mission over time. Together, the survey data and this new assessment process provide a robust set of tools for presidents and mission officers to shape and lead the faith mission of their institutions.
