Discerning the Presidency

A conference for senior executives and academics, nominated by ACCU presidents, who are considering the presidency within the next few years

ACCU is offering a two-day conference for those who are seriously discerning a presidency in Catholic higher education.

About the Conference

June 20-22, 2022

The Connors Center, Boston College

This two-day retreat will offer a more in-depth experience for participants than the typical leadership conference, allowing both group and one-on-one conversations about the job itself, preparing oneself for it, the search process, and about discerning the presidency as a vocational call.  Sessions will be led by veteran ACCU presidents. Confidentiality will be expected.
Monday June 20:  Arrive at The Connors Center between 3:00 - 4:45 p.m.  The program begins at 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, June 22:  Program ends at 11:00 a.m.

The Connors Center is approximately a 60 minute drive from Logan Airport.  Please plan your flight times to allow for travel time to the Connors Center.
If desired, please send your flight arrival times to Lorraine Sloma-Williams, and she will help you coordinate with others, if you would like to share an Uber/Lyft on June 20.
Note:  A bus will be provided to take participants FROM the Connors Center to Logan Airport on Wednesday, June 22nd.

Candidates

ACCU presidents may nominate candidates (senior executives or academics with significant leadership potential) who are aspiring to assume a presidency in the near future (no more than five years).

Approximately 20 candidates will be chosen by an ACCU committee of current presidents.

No one will be considered unless recommended by an ACCU president.

Nominees will be identified as being well suited for the role of president and ready to assume leadership within the next five years.

Nominations for 2022 are closed!

Thank you to those who submitted nominations for this year's program. Additional information for future opportunities will be shared once available.
