2020 Annual Meeting
At a time when both higher education and the Church are under pressure, Catholic higher education continues to serve its broad communities with innovation and agility. Building upon the legacy of their founding congregations, today’s Catholic colleges and universities are adapting to new realities, working with Church leadership, and finding inspired ways to sustain their mission. Join us in 2020 as we explore how Catholic higher education — at this critical moment in history — is meeting the needs of students, the Church, and the world.
Plenary sessions will feature renowned speakers discussing such topics as the changing nature of today's students, the need for Catholic university leaders to work together with bishops to help the Church heal, and the importance of financial viability in advancing Catholic identity and university mission. Pope Francis's widely anticipated new guidelines for Catholic education will also be in the spotlight, as will ideas for leveraging the contributions of Catholic higher education as a distinct market advantage. Plus, hear ACCU president Fr. Dennis Holtschneider share his vision for the association and engage with members to gather their reactions and feedback in a town hall setting.
Among the concurrent sessions we have planned:
- Deftly Adapting to the Shifting Nature of Learners
- Repairing the Cracks of a Fractured Church
- Fostering Mental Wellness on Our Campuses
- Hiring for Mission
- Leading Through Crisis
- ... and much more!
Plan to join us, January 31 - February 3, 2020,
in Washington, DC.
