Journeying Together:
Collaboration Among Catholic Colleges and Catholic K-12 Schools
In an effort to catalogue some of the collaborative efforts between Catholic higher education and Catholic K-12 schools, the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities partnered with the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) to conduct a survey of Catholic postsecondary institutions.
This survey was split into two forms; the first form asked Catholic colleges and universities to describe Catholic K-12/postsecondary collaboration taking the form of degree, certificate and in-service programs. These programs must have content and/or enrollment criteria designed specifically for teachers, principals, superintendents, and others who staff Catholic K-12 schools or diocesan offices of education. The second form asked Catholic colleges and universities to list pro bono services, special centers or institutes, and co-curricular outreach activities designed specifically to assist Catholic K-12 schools or diocesan offices of education.
The results of this study are compiled in to a searchable database, available here. Click here for listing of Catholic colleges and universities' programs in teacher and administrator education. Additionally, interviews have been conducted with some of the practicioners of these collaborative efforts.
