Collegium

This groundbreaking program engages faculty from all traditions to discover how they can make a particular contribution to their institution's identity that respects and explores Catholicism's traditions and goals, while also respecting and taking advantage of their own religious perspectives and talents.

Collegium's membership represents 65 Catholic colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. Member colleges pay annual dues to support the program. In July 2002, Collegium became a part of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities. Collegium's offices and ongoing operations are located at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. For more information on Collegium, please visit the website or contact Collegium@holycross.edu.

Collegium 2017: The Pause at 25

To mark the 25th anniversary of the Collegium program, the 2017 session was structured as a step back to think together about the present and future of Catholic higher education. Read more in the fall 2017 edition of Update and on the Collegium website.

Collegium Alumni Grants

The Collegium Alumni Grant Program encourages program participants to undertake activities that build solidarity among program alumni or advance Collegium's mission on those campuses and in broader forums.

Collegium and ACCU (Collegium's sponsor) will fund five grants of up to $2,500 each. The grants can fund course development (especially related to general education), scholarship, and workshops that advance Catholic intellectual life and bring it into dialogue with other ways of knowing.

Grant funds have been used to support guest speakers, purchase materials for reading and discussion groups, develop new approaches to understanding a Catholic tradition in the arts, and to provide small stipends for workshop participants. Collegium alumni at member institutions are eligible to apply for the grants, and other faculty may be included in proposals as co-applicants. Campuses may add funds to the grant for larger projects.
